Digital art creators who desire to mint a single or series of NFTs are usually excited about doing so on multiple blockchains. One chain attracting the attention of many digital art creators is Tezos. Tezos is widely praised for its low carbon approach and transaction charges. Thus, it isn’t surprising when Snoop dog, through his alter ego (Cozomo De Medici), revealed that he won’t mind launching its next NFTs on the Tezos blockchain.
Snoop Dogg And NFTs
The public is always excited when famous people show massive interest in NFTs. Snoop dog (aka Cozomo De Medici in the NFT world) has pledged huge donations for upcoming creators. The financial aid will cut across NFT projects on Ethereum, Solana, and Tezos.
While Snoop didn’t specify the amount donated for the cause, many estimate that it can’t be less than $200K. With this amount available for upcoming creators, the future can only get better. Everyone must realize that there is more to NFTs than speculations and metaverse collectibles.
NFTs also offer ways to identify historic digital arts and other creative works from the past. Hence, many NFT advocates are more interested in these contemporary artworks. Strangely, more of these contemporary artworks (now in digitized format) are found on the Tezos blockchain than on Ethereum.
Snoop Endorses Tezos
A recent statement credit to Snoop states that “Tezos is the minting platform for the newest artists.” Despite offering lower transaction charges and providing a better user experience than other platforms, Snoop’s recommendation will go a long way in increasing the popularity of this platform. One more attraction of the Tezos blockchain for NFT creators is its low energy consumption when minting single NFTs or NFT series.
The top three NFT platforms for aspiring and current NFT creators are Tezos, Solana, and Ethereum. Creators whose preference is energy efficiency will choose Tezos, while those who prefer a one-v-one marketplace will choose Solana. However, Ethereum remains the largest NFT platform even though many new artists (a few older ones like Snoop Dogg) prefer the former two.
The Rising Popularity Of The Tezos Blockchain
Snoop Dogg has long been interested in Tezos, with one of his old tweets revealing that he holds more than 1K TEZ. Snoop also remarked that one of the factors causing the rising popularity of Tezos is its NFT platforms. As the NFT industry gains popularity, more blockchains are springing up, reducing the barrier to entry for new artists and increasing the rivalry among these blockchains.
Hence, it is likely that neither Solana, Ethereum, nor Tezos will be the king of NFT platforms in the coming years. It is important to note that there are several NFT marketplaces on the Tezos blockchain. All of them also users to mint, sell and buy NFTs. Some of the most popular ones include FXHash, OBJKT, Versum, Hicentric.
Recently, one of the biggest news out of the NFT sector is an OpenSea integration of Tezos. The Tezos foundation has already approved the grant for the integration, but neither party involved has yet to release its timeline.
